Description: This is the official list of the Mamluks of the Saracen Nation. These members represent the best of the saracens as teacher and fighters of the company.
History: Sir Maniacles was the First Mamluk and also wrote the idea of adding the Mamluks to the saracens The Mamluks In order to help stabilize and train this army of Saracens, the historic figure name Salla-al-Din (who we call Saladin) created a group of men known as Mamluks. These were the very best of his fighters and were intended both to teach and be the standard that all other Saracens should strive for. (The word Mamluk is based on the Arabic words for "war-master") Historically, the Mamluks were seen as the equivalent of a Christian Knight. While I have not intention of competing with the Amtgard concept of knight, I do propose to bring back the Mamluks as the very highest recognized status a Saracen Fighter may achieve. I further propose that the title of Mamluk be earned as follows. The Saracen fighter must achieve mastery of both combat divisions. Mastery of a division will be decided at a War Council by vote of all fighters present from that division. Once both divisions have been mastered, the candidate must be found worthy by both of the existing Mamluks. Having achieved the rank of Mamluk, The Saracen fighter is now considered qualified unconditionally to teach the combat standards of you company to all other Saracens regardless of rank or tribes. They shall be the best of us in all things Saracen
