Description: House Valkyrie is a women's household based in Blackspire, specifically geared towards encouraging women in all aspects of amtgard. The Valkyries are all close friends, and attempt to involve women who might otherwise forgoe amtgard entirely.

History: House Valkyrie was started by a group of friends. We thought it would be fun to have a household. then we started thinking of what we would stand for. Once we had figured out that we wanted to help other women in our area we got started laying down the foundation work. We revamped the knightly aspects of amtgard to come up with our own. Picked colors to represent them, and assigned one of the four of us to the aspect closes to our heart. So far in a about a year (give or take) we have volunteered to help either serving or making feasts, still only assisting. We have put on a Bardic with a cash prize. Two of our members attended SKBC and have been spreading what they learned to women/men in and out of the house. They also have put on a minor breakfast feast at Pacwar, and assisted Sir Fodder and his squire with making THEIR breakfast feast. In the future we hope to plan more events, help with fundraisers, garb those in need, and make sure that woman know they are not at a disadvantage on the field.
