Description: The Order of the Crimson Lance:\r\nWe are an Amtgard Order dedicated to behaving in an honorable and chivalrous manner as well as being advocates of fair and safe play. We hope to foster this conduct in others by leading by example. While not a fighting company, our members strive to be ready to take up arms in the interest of evening sides on the field of battle. We also highly encourage all of our members to be reeves qualified so that there is always someone available to reeve a fair game.\r\n\r\nWe hold the integrity of the game of Amtgard paramount, seeking to to uphold an environment for all who play the freedom and safety to do so without fear of bullying or mockery.\r\n\r\nMembers or potential members are expected to exemplify the following tenets and virtues:\r\n\r\n\r\n- Courage: Never shrink from a task laid before you. No matter how humble or difficult, see your endeavours to the end. \r\n\r\n- Justice: Always hold yourself to the highest standard of behavior and be fair minded in your dealings with others. Never let pettiness or self interest cloud your judgement.\r\n\r\n- Mercy: Never seek to be antagonistic nor purposefully instill hostility in others. Strive to create a sense of peace and community in those around you. Never let your pride or anger prevent you from being the the better man/woman in an argument or conflict, forgiveness is not weakness.\r\n\r\n- Charity: Be willing to share what you have to help those around you, even if all you have to give is your time and company. Never brag nor flaunt your wealth or good fortune.\r\n\r\n- Nobility: Never let your station or standing affect your behavior towards others. Always stand by your convictions and never abandon your morals. Never shirk any responsibility you have taken upon yourself nor break any oath you have given.\r\n\r\n- Hope: Strive to look for the good in things. Seek to inspire those around you in dire times and promote good cheer.\r\n\r\nLet this be clear, we do not lay claim nor do we feel entitled to the title of Knight. To seek any title for personal glory is the antithesis of what this order stands for. We do, however, hold the title of knight in high reverence. Prospective members who are knights or members who become knights are to be held to an even higher standard of behavior as far as exemplifying the tenets of the Order of the Lance. \r\n\r\nMembership may only be extended by invite of the head of the order, though members in good standing may nominate a potential candidate for consideration. It suggested that a prospective member should be given opportunity to undergo tests and/or trials of their virtue should any doubts of their worthiness arise. Upon acceptance into the order, a ceremony shall be held. A party is acceptable, though should not be extravagant in nature. During the ceremony, a new member is encouraged to say a few words during which they should read from or recite their favorite knight�s oath from literature or history and speak on why it�s their favorite.\r\n\r\nShould they wish it, any member may leave the order. They need only to let let the head of the order aware of their desire to leave.\r\n
