Description: Rose in the Wild is a household of Amtgard women dedicated to creating a historical/fantasy atmosphere, providing entertainment, color, encouraging service and fellowship in Amtgard gatherings and special events. This includes performing arts, artisan crafts/engineering and martial arts. The are three general trades within the household: Performing Artists * Theatrical and Bardic * Dance and acrobatics Craft Artisans and Engineers * Culinary * Crafts and Clothing - seamstress, leather working, knitting and crocheting * Weapon engineering * Sculpture/Engineer - Metal crafting, carpentry * Artist - painting, drawing, calligraphy, photography Martial Arts/Guard * Fighting class abilities * Weapon engineering

History: The Rose in the Wild began with song and dance on the deck of a Moor merchant ship named The Abal (arabic for wild rose). A small group of women on board the Abal actively illuminated the ship with grace and cheer, by entertaining the crew and guest travelers. Eventually, they began performing in the town squares, markets, taverns and theaters of port cities. The Abal traveled all over the known world, slowly forming a melting pot of sailors from all over the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Asia, and creating their own unique crew culture and traditions.
